Job Description

Central Coast Local Health District require a “Assistants in Nursing (AIN) – Rehabilitation Unit” in Wyong NSW:

This position of Assistant in Nursing will work within a dedicated multi-disciplinary team environment across the Wyong Rehabilitation Ward.

The Assistant in Nursing is an integral part of the nursing team.

Working under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Assistant in Nursing will
assist in the provision of nursing care to patients requiring acute medical and general rehabilitation care in a hospital.

This position involves:

  • Provision of support to the nursing team in the delivery of nursing care in a sub- acture care
    environment as directed by the Registered Nurse.
  • Provide direct care activities to patients in accordance with the nursing care plan and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Assist Registered and Enrolled Nurses with patient care interventions as directed.
  • Contribute to collecting accurate health care information and maintaining accurate health care documentation as required.
  • Communicate effectively with patents and other health care team members in accordance with appropriate protocols.

Selection Criteria
HLT32507 – Certificate lll Health Services (Acute Care – HLT32507) or equivalent.

Recent experience as an Assistant in Nursing in an acute hospital setting.

Understand scope of practice of an Assistant in Nursing in an acute hospital setting.

Commitment to teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment and a willingness to learn and adapt to changing environments.

Demonstrated ability to work in a team, including an understanding of team nursing model of care.

Demonstrate effective verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality patient care and demonstrated ability to effectively prioritise and organise own workload.

Demonstrated commitment to Caring for the Coast vision, goals and strategies, with demonstrated behaviours which align with the NSW Health CORE values and CCLHD Values and behaviours charter.

This position requires a Working With Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
