Job Description

Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) has an opportunity for suitably experienced Career Medical Officers to work in the CCLHD Emergency Medicine Departments located on the NSW Central Coast.
The Emergency Medicine Departments are well supported by committed Physicians and Junior Medical Workforce with a tight team that is highly procedurally focused.
We’re looking for suitable qualified candidates who have experience in Emergency Medicine, and are committed to clinical practice review and improvement, as well as further clinical training and teaching. The Local Health District has strong links with the University of Newcastle Medical School.
The position is required to deliver direct patient care and supervise Junior Medical Staff in managing patients attending the Emergency Department at Wyong and Gosford Hosptials, within Central Coast Local Health District. The position ensures the provision of on-site experienced medical staff to provide management to these patients.

Urgent Care Centre (Wyong Only), requires the provision of on-site experienced medical management to lower acuity patients.

The CMO will participate in a rotating roster of days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Must be eligible for registration with the Australian Medical Board (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner.
Must have worked a minimum of 12 months in the Australian health care system or an equivalent competent authority country.
Possess MBBS or equivalent and have at least 4 years full time hospital experience (for ED Component) or General Practice experience (UCC Component).
Recent experience in a busy emergency department, Minimum 1 year as a registrar, CMO or SRMO (ED Component).
Must have experience in resuscitation and acute management of critically ill adults and children and experience in the assessment and management of low acuity adult and paediatric patients and the ability to independently manage their care from presentation to disposition in a short time frame.
Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate experience in supervising junior doctors.
Must be willing to participate in a rotating roster of days, evenings, nights and weekends.
