Job Description

The Terrigal Hotel is looking for a dedicated Chef to manage its very busy kitchen.

Candidates must have certificate IV in commercial cookery and diploma in hospitality management in addition to five years of experience in commercial kitchen and cooking contemporary Australian menus.

As an experienced Chef, you have the responsibilities of managing a busy kitchen and supervising kitchen staff. The main duties of this position include but not limited to:

  • Planning and design menus
  • estimating food and labor costs, and ordering food supplies
  • monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians and kitchen and waiting staff
  • demonstrating new dishes, techniques and advising on cooking procedures
  • preparing and cooking food
  • explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
  • Select and train kitchen staff
  • Food storage and handling

This position is full time (38 hours per week) with base annual salary of $55,000 plus super. Starts immediately. Only Australian citizen or permanent residents should apply.
