Job Description

Central Coast Local Health District require a “Clinical Coder” in Gosford NSW:

To provide accurate, timely and complete classification of diagnosis and procedures from the medical record using ICD-10-AM/ACHI Classifications, Australian Coding Standards and computerised Encoder.

Clinical Coding- Health Information Services CCLHD is recruiting experienced coders to join our progressive and dynamic team. We have options available for full-time, part-time and casual roles and the ability to enter in to an 80% work from home agreement (after an initial orientation period).

Coders can choose to work on site at either Gosford or Wyong Hospitals – with education and support provided.

Selection Criteria
Completion of a recognised ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS coding course or relevant tertiary qualification in Health Information Management.

Minimum 12 months experience as a Clinical Coder with demonstrated experience and competence as specified in the HIMAA Clinical Coder National Competency Standards and Assessment Guide., including recent experience coding in a hospital with a broad range of specialties of intermediate casemix complexity.

Demonstrated ability to analyse and assign accurate Diagnosis Related Groups.

Demonstrated experience using 3M Codefinder and coding resource materials and in using ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS current edition.

Demonstrated excellence in organisation and time management, with the ability to manage competing priorities and daily targets.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written communication.

Demonstrated ability to work both in an unsupervised environment and within a team with excellent interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated commitment to Caring for the Coast vision, goals and strategies, with demonstrated behaviours which align with the NSW Health CORE values and CCLHD Values and behaviours charter.
