The Learning & Development Officer will report directly to the Workforce Planning Coordinator and is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of learning and organisational development activities for the organisation. This role works closely with organisational business partners to identify and address workforce development and learning needs, and manages projects to address the current and future training, development and change management needs of Council.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Partner with internal customers and stakeholders to design, develop and deliver learning and capability programs to meet organisational needs as part of the ongoing management and development of skills for staff
  • Provide professional, customer service focussed responses to queries related to learning and development, induction, capability assessment, change management and workforce planning
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the delivery of requested services across all learning and development activities, including the co-ordination of internal and external training requests and maintaining and monitoring computerised systems to meet training record keeping requirements
  • Liaise with staff and management to deliver outcomes for learning and development and workforce planning projects
  • Provide specialist advice to others in the organisation, in relation to the development, design and effectiveness of blended learning methods
  • Proactively support team members to achieve the goals and objectives of the Workforce Planning Unit and Organisational Performance Department generally

As our ideal candidate you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification
  • Extensive experience applying learning and development principles to design, develop, and implement courses and associated resources
  • Demonstrated strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and complete projects that involve a number of stakeholders
  • Experience working in a position that interacts across the organisation
  • Demonstrated effective teamwork and time management skills to meet tight deadlines and changing operational priorities
  • Thorough knowledge of business processes and activities associated with learning and development, organisational development and change management
  • Current Class C motor vehicle licence

Salary: $74,394 – $82,244 per year plus 12% superannuation
