About the role
Coordinate and implement Carers Services including carer support as required, recruitment, assessment and training of carers. The role may direct and supervise a team of Supporters of Carers (SOC) to ensure and strengthen carer capacity to support clients

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage the delivery of Carer Assessments, Carer Reviews, Carer Recruitment and Carer Training.
Promote, develop and lead a cohesive team which contributes to the overall engagement of carers with LWB.
Liaise with carers as required.
Participate directly in SOC functions, such as recruitment, assessment, and training for carers.
As required provide direct support to carers.
Participate in on call roster as required.
Support and promote the work of Life Without Barriers, maintaining a positive image of the organisation in accordance with level of position.
Comply with all Life Without Barriers policy, code of conduct, procedures and practices, external funding body requirements and legislation.
Apply and uphold principles of equity and anti-discrimination in the workplace and adhere to organisational and legislative Health, Safety and Environment requirements.
Skills & Experience

Degree in Social Work, Social Science, Psychology or Human Services.
Demonstrated ability to supervise a team of care services coordinators and experience in the coordination of a number of functions.
An understanding of the issues facing carers in providing care to children and young people, or people with a disability, in Out of Home Care placements.
Demonstrated experience in Human Services such as child protection, out of home care, disability, health or welfare.

Sound coordination or management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to negotiate and develop other staff members.
Current Driver Licence.
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
