Job Description

Central Coast Local Health District require a “Manager Disability Inclusion” in Gosford NSW:

The Manager Disability Inclusion will be the District’s contact officer, expert and representative for all matters, including correspondence, relating to Disability Inclusion, and for strategically ensuring the District meets its obligations under the NSW Health Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2016-2019 to provide equitable and dignified access to services and employment for people regardless of disability, and includes being committed to reducing and, where possible, eliminating discriminatory barriers for people with disability, whether they are in employment, seeking employment or using health services provided by NSW Health.

The position will achieve these objectives through the strategic planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all relevant services of the District for readiness and compliance with all applicable Disability related frameworks including: the National Disability Strategy 2010-2020; the NSW Health Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2016-2019; and, the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in a health related discipline and/or significant relevant professional experience. A current valid Australian Driver’s Licence.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the legislative and policy requirements and practices relating to Disability Inclusion in public health organisations.

Demonstrated understanding of strategic planning, policy development and project management concepts and practices.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships with a range of key human services stakeholders.

Experience and/or demonstrated understanding of working collaboratively with consumers with a disability and/or agencies which specialise in disability services.

High level oral and written communication, interpersonal, facilitation, consultation and computer skills.

Demonstrated high level of organisational skills, self-motivation, ability to take direction, work independently, meet deadlines and effectively manage resources and administrative processes.

Demonstrated commitment to Caring for the Coast vision, goals and strategies, with demonstrated behaviours which align with the NSW Health CORE values and CCLHD Values and behaviours charter.
