Job Description

Central Coast Local Health District require a “Mental Health – Gosford – CC CYPMH – Youth Mental Health Worker (YPPI)” in Gosford NSW:

The position sits within the Young People’s early Psychosis Intervention (YPPI) team which follows first episode principles and interventions within an assertive outreach model of care. Clinicians manage a small case load of around 15-20 clients, specifically young people aged 12-24 yrs (up to 24th birthday) identified as experiencing early psychosis. In addition to providing intensive case management and early intervention the service also provides recovery orientated group programs (therapeutic & diversional) and family/carer support. To promote cultural change regarding Children and Young Peoples mental health within (specifically first episode psychosis) within CCH (including General wards, Emergency departments and Mental Health Inpatient Facilities).

Social Worker Level 1/2 ( NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award)

Occupational Therapist Level 1/2 (NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award)

Registered Nurse (Public Health System Nurses’ & Midwives’ (State) Award)

Psychologist () Health and Community Employees Psychologists (State) Award

Selection Criteria
• Tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Psychology (Fully Registered), Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Social Science or related discipline. Current drivers licence

• Experience working within a Mental Health or Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.

• Experience working within an acute/crisis intervention model of care.

• Demonstrated knowledge of the mental health needs of young people (12-24 years) and their families (specifically in relation to the evidence based practice and principles of early psychosis).

• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

• Demonstrated communication and computer literacy skills.

• Experience in working collaboratively with other service providers (both government and non government).

• Demonstrated commitment to Caring for the Coast vision, goals and strategies, with demonstrated behaviours which align with the NSW Health CORE values and CCLHD Values and behaviours charter.
