Job Description

The Company
A reputable private Registered Training Organisation (RTO) on the Central Coast is seeking an experienced Compliance and Quality Officer to join their friendly Training College team. The RTO has established quality systems in place to allow for the delivery of quality training programs in aged care, early childhood and business.

The Role
The Compliance and Quality Officer role is key to the Training College to assist us in continuing to deliver high quality programs. You will be joining an RTO who is focused on delivering quality education and student outcomes.

The position will be responsible for ensuring we meet all our ASQA regulatory requirements as well as state regulatory requirements. Ideally you will have previous experience in a compliance / quality role within an RTO but we are willing to train someone for the role if they have a current working knowledge of the VET. Anyone considering applying for the role must be extremely motivated, a quick learner, have a strong eye for detail with refined researching skills and have the ability to work autonomously and self-manage.

Key responsibilities:
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on the VET sector and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor the RTO’s compliance with the VET Quality Framework.
• Monitor the RTO’s compliance with the NSW Smart and Skilled contract.
• Communicate and implement any changes to regulatory requirements with other staff members.
• Plan, schedule and conduct;
o Internal audits;
o Program reviews;
o Assessment validation; and
o Marketing reviews (including website and social media).
• Oversee maintenance of Trainer / Assessor matrixes for unit equivalency and currency for training / assessment.
• Assist with management of the RTO scope of registration.
• Assist with submission of any required applications to ASQA (including submission for change of scope, change of details and renewal applications).
• Assist with submission of required data reports including:
o Total VET Activity Reporting;
o Quality Indicator Reporting; and
o Assisting the CEO in completing of the Annual Declaration on Compliance.
• Review and maintain relevant policies and procedures and develop any new policies and procedures as required.
• Develop, review and maintain other resources such as:
o Student forms;
o Template documents for events such as program development, audits, validations, evaluations, industry consultation and program reviews.
• Maintain and implement continuous improvement.
• Maintain and update program folders for staff use.
• Maintain version control of documents.
• Prepare for and participate in audits conducted by external regulating bodies.
• Foster a compliance-based culture within the organisation.

Other responsibilities;
• Development of customised assessment tools and assessment plans.

To succeed in this position you will have:
 Demonstrated experience working in VET.
 Knowledge and understanding of ASQA 2015 Standards and regulatory requirements relevant to RTOs.
 Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
 Ability to balance both compliance and business needs.
 High level for attention to detail and refined researching skills.
 Ability to work autonomously and self-manage.
 Ability to work as part of a team.
 Excellent computer skills with an advanced proficiency to create, edit and publish documents.

Ideally you will have:
 Past / current experience working in a compliance or quality assurance role.
 Qualifications relevant to the role eg a Diploma of Quality Auditing, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
 Knowledge and understanding of the NSW Smart and Skilled contractual requirements.

There is the flexibility for the role to be either part time or full time and there is opportunity for career progression.
