Job Description

Central Coast Local Health District require a “Registered Nurse – Cancer Care” in Gosford NSW:

This position of Central Coast Cancer Services – Registered Nurse will work within a dedicated multi-disciplinary team environment aiming to improve the patient journey

through the provision of comprehensive nursing care to patients with Haematological and Oncological malignancies.

The Central Coast Cancer Services provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary patient centred care, by dedicated teams of hospital and community based staff.

The services deliver outpatient cytotoxic therapy and radiation therapy for the treatment of Oncology and Haematological malignancies as well as providing the supportive and emotional care required by this patient group.

The Cancer Centres at Gosford Hospital and Wyong Hospital sites consist of 23 Chairs and 2 beds across the 2 sites. Radiotherapy services are delivered within a designated unit with two linear accelerators at Gosford site. The Community Cancer Service is an outreach program providing patients with access to experienced Oncology/Haematology nurses 24 hours per day. There is close liaison with Cancer Care Coordinators to facilitate the patient journey.

Selection Criteria
Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA and a Current Australian Drivers Licence.

Demonstrated post basic experience in oncology/haematology/radiation oncology

Demonstrated experience in chemotherapy administration and /or the care of a
patient undergoing Radiotherapy treatment.

Demonstrated experience in holistic patient assessment in the area of cancer

Demonstrated experience in patient education in the area of cancer and cancer treatment.

Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated commitment to Caring for the Coast vision, goals and strategies, with demonstrated behaviours which align with the NSW Health CORE values and CCLHD Values and behaviours charter.
