Job Description

Central Coast Local Health District require a “Registered Nurse Cardiac Angiography Unit” in Gosford NSW:

The Registered Nurse works in all roles within the CAU including scrub, scout, haemodynamic monitoring and recovery nursing utilising PPE (eg Lead gowns, protective eyewear, etc).

CCLHD aims to offer primary PCI to all eligible patients diagnosed with an acute STEMI, within 90 mins of first medical contact.

Staff are required to participate in the emergency on-call roster once clinical competencies have been achieved. On-call requires staff to present to CAU within 30mins of call-in.

In early 2018 CAU will increase business operating hours and commence emergency on-call 5 evenings a week (Mon-Fri), to increase primary PCI access for central coast residents with STEMI .

In late 2019/early 2020, the CAU will be expanding to 2 cardiac and 1 cardiovascular lab, with new services to CAU including:

  • EPS/ablation
  • ICD and CRT
  • vascular procedures
  • 24/7 emergency on-call for patients with STEMI

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

Selection Criteria
Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA.

Recent critical care experience (or Operating Theatres) or acute care 5+ years.

Excellent communication, negotiation, time management and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and commitment to evidence based practice and quality improvement.

Demonstrated ability to work individually and within a multidisciplinary team.

Demonstrated computer literacy.

Competent in interpretation of cardiac rhythms and management of patients with chest pain.

Demonstrated commitment to Caring for the Coast vision, goals and strategies, with demonstrated behaviours which align with the NSW Health CORE values and CCLHD Values and behaviours charter.
