Job Description

Applications are invited from enthusiastic Registered Nurses to join the Central Coast Community Nursing Service.

You will be working autonomously, visiting clients requiring Nursing care in their own home. You will receive a comprehensive 3 month orientation/induction program when you begin and will be working within a strong learning environment where support is provided by the NUM, CNE, CNC’s and other senior staff working in the team, as well as being provided with a mentor for this first 3 months.

Community Nurses strive towards the provision of high quality nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation using best practice principles as part of a collaborative partnership with clients, families/carers and other key stakeholders.

The focus of Community Nursing is on the promotion and maintenance of health. It is also concerned with early recognition of and prompt intervention in the disease process and with rehabilitation activities, all of which aim to prevent disease, retard its progress, minimise its effects and assist the individual to achieve and maintain an optimum level of independence, or a peaceful death when life can no longer be sustained.

We look forward to including suitable Registered Nurses into our dynamic high quality Nursing Service. We currently have 2 part time positions available, one each based at Wyong and Long Jetty/Kincumber. Your working days will include shifts covering Monday to Friday 0800 to 1630 working hours.

This recruitment may be used to fill future positions via an eligibility list for permanent, part time, temporary and casual positions.

What you’ll be doing

As primary health care workers in the community, nurses are required to be involved in the continuous monitoring of the health status of communities as well as responding to episodic health needs. Because of the settings in which it is delivered, community nursing requires skilful application and adaptation of the scientific principles on which nursing is based.
