Job Description

Boral Industries require a “Account Manager – Recycling” in Hunter Valley NSW:

Boral Recycling is a dynamic construction and demolition (C&D) waste recycling business which operates across NSW and the ACT. The business receives and processes materials such as concrete, asphalt and brick into engineered and non-engineered construction materials.

In this role you will be managing the sourcing and acquisition of recyclable building products including building a customer basis for sales of processed recycling construction materials. Reporting to the Manager – Recycling, the Sales Account Manager – Recycling will have responsibility to ensure that sourced products meet Boral Recycling Inspection Receival Protocol, relevant Australian Standards, customer and regulatory specifications and will ensure the customer is provided solutions for finished product.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Accept and carry out responsibilities in accordance with the relevant Boral OHS system
  • Provide customers with sales, technical support, quotes and follow up leads and action as required
  • Handle problems / issues that may arise
  • Build strong relationships with all customers ensuring any price changes are verbally passed on and confirmed in writing.
  • Ensure continuous improvement with innovative ideas in all aspects of sales and marketing.
  • Prepare Quotes
  • Establish and report a weekly call planner
  • Ensure regular contact with current customers to monitor their requirements and their perception of service
  • Actively capture price movements and competitor activities.
  • Source and approach potential customers
  • Participate in sales development and associated skills programmes.
  • Prepare monthly forecasts
  • Participate in sales and operational planning meetings to deliver Boral’s intent “Zero/One/Ten”
  • Establish strong relationships with Statutory Authorities (RMS, Government), Civil Contractors Federation

To be successful you must have the following skills, qualification, and experience:

  • Proven ability and experience in account management;
  • Knowledge and understanding of construction quarrying and recycling industry market, including products and competitors;
  • Strong people skills and communication skills;
  • Technical knowledge on recycled products
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines;
  • Strong written skills;
  • Proficient Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills;
  • Sound presentation skills;
  • Strong customer focus;
  • Demonstrated ability to keep up to date with relevant Australian Standards and product specification;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with all people, and to lead and influence people;
  • Personal drive and results-orientation.
