The role

This is a perfect opportunity for a Certificate III Qualified Child Care Educator to join the most experienced early childhood education provider in Australia. KU Children’s Services provides our staff with the expertise and the support and it is this wealth of knowledge and experience that allows KU to enrich the lives of more than 15,000 children and families each year through over 150 services and programs. The available opportunity is a fixed term 1 year floater role across the centre and rotates between morning and afternoon shifts working Monday to Friday 5 hours per day. The Centre

Located in the heart of Highfields, KU Kahibah Road Children’s Centre is a state of the art building, with environmentally friendly facilities and a large, landscaped play area within a tranquil parkland setting. KU Kahibah Road offers staff parking onsite and is a long day care service whose passionate team care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years old. KU Kahibah Road operates Monday to Friday, and offers a full preschool program alongside its long day care services.

The impact you’ll have

To work as a member of a co-operative team in order to provide an exceptional educational program for the children within her/his care.

To ensure that the policies of KU and the funding authorities are implemented in providing appropriate care and educational programs for children.

All responsibilities of this position are based on the National Law and regulations, the Principles, Practices and Outcomes detailed in the EYLF, VEYLDF and the NQF Quality Areas, Standards and Elements. All educators are expected to have a working knowledge of these documents, which should underpin their pedagogy and, together with the centre philosophy, directly reflect their relationships with children, families and co-educators.

What we’re looking for?

We want you to be as passionate about early childhood education and as committed to achieving positive outcomes as we are. In addition, you will have:

  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Work rights to enable you to work in Australia
  • Experience in working for a corporate centre would be highly regarded
  • Recognised Certificate III in Children’s Services or similar as approved by Australian Children’s Education and Quality Authority (ACECQA)
  • Sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law(2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations(2011)
  • Working knowledge of the Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)
  • Professional level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Current knowledge of Child Protection legislation and its implications for the care and protection of children
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills
