Job Description

Hunter New England Local Health District require a “Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist in Training” in Charlestown NSW:

Provide high quality consumer-focused evidence based psychological assessment, diagnosis and treatment to improve the mental health outcomes of poeple referred to CAMHS and their carers, together with the provision of supervision, consultation and clinical leadership.

An eligibility list will be created for similar positions, both Permanent and Temporary, in the future.

Selection Criteria
Full registration and registered in accordance with the Psychologists Act 2001 with Masters degree or higher in Clinical Psychology or some other recognised clinical area in psychology that the employer deems relevant to the functions of the position or working towards same. Provisional registration would be considered if undertaking post-graduate studies in clinical psychology

Extensive effective experience in assessment, intervention and evaluation of clinical outcomes with diverse client populations

Demonstrated ability to work independently in the provision of client focused care

Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved client care and outcomes

Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.

Extensive contemporary experience and knowledge of psychological practice in the areas of Child, Adolescent and Family clinical services

Demonstrated experience in the provision of supervision

Current Driver’s Licence (NSW eligibility)

This position requires a Working With Children Check (WWCC) issued by the Office of the Children’s Guardian.
