Job Description

Hunter New England Local Health District require a “Clinical Support Officer” in Hunter Valley NSW:

The Clinical Support Officer (CSO) will provide timely and accurate administrative services for members of the health care team under the direction of the Service Director. The CSO will work under broad supervision but will be required to take some independent action. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures.

This is an identified Aboriginal Position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent. Exemption is claimed under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. Aboriginal applicants must demonstrate Aboriginality in addition to addressing the selection criteria.

An eligibility list will be created for similar positions, both Permanent and Temporary, in the future.

Selection Criteria This is an identified Aboriginal Position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent. Exemption is claimed under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent. Excellent communication skills including accurate spelling and comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels. Demonstrated experience in word processing spread sheet and database software. Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload and tasks to meet deadlines. Capacity to work under broad supervision in undertaking a diverse range of tasks. Demonstrated ability to perform effectively as a team member in a high pressure, high volume work environment.
