Department of Radiation Oncology

The clinical trial coordinator is responsible for coordinating conduct and management of designated clinical trials and research projects within the department of Radiation Oncology.

The Clinical Trial Coordinator is expected to:

  • Ensure effective communication with members of the trial unit, department, trial sponsor, supporting departments within the hospital and with any relevant external parties (e.g. external service providers)
  • Ensure effective communication with research participants and their families
  • Maintain effective and efficient processes that ensure quality research
  • Commitment to improving cancer outcomes through quality research
  • Assist and prepare Ethics submissions and ongoing trial reports

Selection Criteria Essential: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Radiation Sciences, Science, Allied Health, Psychology and/or related disciplines
Essential: Demonstrated ability to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity
Essential: Demonstrated effective organisational skills including ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team
Essential: Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills including development of rapport with patients and families in stressful situations
Essential: Demonstrated effective communication skills both written and verbal
Essential: Demonstrated computer literacy including spread sheets, databases and word processing packages
Essential: Commitment to Calvary as it applies to the Hospital and the ability and desire to uphold these values
Desirable: Previous relevant experience in a clinical trials environment
Desirable: Experience in or knowledge of statistical methods and analysis
