Job Summary

Salamander Child Care Centre (SCCC) is a not for profit Community Centre that has been Educating and nurturing children on the Tomaree Peninsula for 25 years.

SCCC provides quality programs for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years in a natural homely environment. We are seeking a fulltime passionate, resourceful, energetic, innovative, experienced Educator/Teacher to join our team.

We pride ourselves on providing children with high quality programs that are play based, innovative, inclusive, engaging, creative, flexible, allow children to be aware of and understand their world, and develop a sense of self and the community.

The successful candidate will also need to complete a medical history and working with children check

If you would like to become a member of our strong friendly team, we are currently seeking fulltime and part-time employees for the following positions for 2019:

Permanent Qualified Fulltime position (Minimum of a Diploma qualification)
Temporary fulltime minimum of Certificate III
Permanent part-time position minimum 20 hours per week minimum of Certificate III
Temporary part-time position minimum 16 hours per week minimum of Certificate III
Selection Criteria Qualified

ACECQA approved qualification
A current First Aid Certificate
Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication with proven ability to develop positive reciprocal relations and partnerships with children and families, team members, and the Management Committee.
Knowledge and understanding of work health and safety procedures
Proven knowledge and understanding of National Quality Framework.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
Ability to be flexible, to think outside the square, to remain calm, and critically reflect with and mentor fellow team members with respect.
Demonstrated ability and passion to develop and implement innovative and engaging learning environments that will enhance and extend children’s learning and development holistically.
An understanding of the importance of nature pedagogy in children’s lives.
Knowledge and understanding of child development
Willingness to engage in ongoing Professional Development.
Knowledge and understanding of food safety and handling of food.
Selection Criteria Certificate III
ACECQA approved qualification
A current First Aid Certificate
Demonstrated ability to implement learning programs that support and extend children’s learning
Ability to work within a team, follow directions, critically reflect
Knowledge and understanding of child development
Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework
Knowledge and understanding of work health and safety procedures
Demonstrated ability to observe and interpret children’s learning and development.
Knowledge and understanding of food safety and handling of food.
