Profusion have been selected as an exclusive partner with this leading insurer to help recruit on an exciting new project. Due to a huge period of growth they have decided to open a brand new office in Chatswood and expand headcount across their existing CBD, Newcastle and Parramatta offices.

Role Overview

As the Technical Adviser/specialist you will be on hand to provide technical advice to Case Managers on the Workers’ Compensation portfolio and work with the business to ensure effective Claims practices are embedded which will focus on achieving a high level of customer experience through pro-active management of claims.

Responsibilities
Work directly with Claims Management Specialist as part of a team in the delivery of the icare customer experience
Encourage proactive and open communication with key stakeholders during decision making processes

Provide regular advice and feedback to Claims Specialists and Team Leaders on adverse decisions relating to liability/ work capacity/ permanent impairment/ weekly payment entitlements and communication with a view to minimize requests for review; ensure decisions are provided with empathy; provide a solutions focus with adverse decisions; and minimize disputes.
Work with the Learning & Development team as a subject matter expert to provide content for learning modules, review content in development and update information as required.
Work with Team Leaders to identify learning gaps and areas for development in claims teams and deliver training in tool box and team meetings
Skills and Experience
Demonstrated understanding and application of relevant NSW Workers compensation laws and the associated regulations
Strong technical experience in workers’ long term compensation claims and coaching experience is essential
Experience managing and working within a multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to demonstrate a hands on, co-operative and consultative approach to technical advice and support
Tertiary studies in Law and Allied Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation, Nursing, Psychology or Exercise Science) advantageous
