WesTrac require a “HSE Advisor” in Hunter Valley NSW:

About the opportunity

WesTrac has a fantastic career opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced HSE Advisor. Based at our Mt Thorley branch and reporting through to the GM Safety, Security and Risk, you will provide superior support to our Mining Region Branches and Customer Operations. The role will require some travel.

Fundamental to this role, is your strong ability to provide practical advice, assistance and guidance. You will impart a positive HSE culture through your natural ability to establish genuine and meaningful partnerships with Managers, customers and key stakeholders. The HSE Advisor’s responsibility is to co-ordinate health, safety, environment, and employee well-being practices resulting in the attainment of a harm free workplace.

Essential Criteria:
Excellent knowledge of WHS and Mining NSW legislation

Degree level in WHS or equivalent

Ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously

Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities to achieve tight deadlines

Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, written and verbal

Advanced computer literacy skills (MS Office Suite) – experience with SAP is highly desirable

High attention to detail with the ability to identify continuous improvement initiatives

Highly developed analytical and problem solving skills with ability to provide recommendations and action as required

Previous experience developing and facilitating training to a large and diverse group

Desirable Criteria:
3 years previous HSE experience within in a similar role

Working knowledge of relevant legislation and proven ability to interpret conditions
