Job Description

WesTrac require a “Mining Business Manager” in Hunter Valley NSW:

As one of the largest authorised Caterpillar dealers in the world, WesTrac provides customers with a wide array of machinery and construction equipment as well as a comprehensive whole-of-life management solution designed to make owning and operating equipment as easy, profitable and safe as possible.

Reporting to the General Manager Mining, the Mining Business Manager is responsible for the management of all mining related sales and customer support activities within all customers in their allocated account. The position is accountable for assisting in the development and execution of the NSW Sales and Support Mining strategy, annual budgets and overall customer relationship strategy.

Negotiation of major customer accounts and the delivery of on-going high level customer service required to develop, strengthen and maintain customer relationships is also key for this role.

The Mining Business Manager has the responsibility of coordinating the relationship with Caterpillar Global Mining to resolve issues, build relationships and provide market Intel to ensure suitable outcomes for allocated customer base.

This position provides broader leadership to the team and those with in the business, ensuring team members are provided with direction and attainable yet challenging performance targets to meet their allocated customer’s requirements and the overall WesTrac NSW results.

Essential:

  • Proven leadership ability to embed the Values and Behaviours of our business
  • Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Business, technically related discipline, coupled with a minimum of 10 years’ post qualification experience within a similar account management role within large and complex organisations.
  • Advanced leadership/people management experience with the ability to inspire, influence and motivate teams across multiple functions not directly within the reporting line
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to build and maintain successful working relationships
  • Advanced understanding of Mining Economics, Fleet Production Cost (FPC) Mine EIA, Whole of Life Cost Modelling, Fleet Size, Pass Match and equipment application.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), including consultation, negotiation and facilitation skills to effectively liaise with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet objectives
  • Ability to work successfully within a team and autonomously
