About the Location:
YMCA Rutherford outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is part of YMCA NSW’s extensive network of outside school hours care centres. We provide safe and enjoyable experiences for the children in our care .

We pride ourselves on ensuring the safety and wellbeing of any child under our care.

This service is a partial set up and pack up service (approx. 2 days). We also run vacation care from this service.

We are currently looking for an energetic Coordinator to come join and lead a small team based out of the St Pauls primary school in Rutherford. This is a fulltime role which will include spilt shifts.

Although we are not aligned with the school, we would like to continue the good relationship we hold with the school by aligning ourselves with their values.

The Rutherford OSHC is one of our small services, with approx. 15 to 20 kids per service time.

Your role as coordinator:
As the Out-of-School-Hours-Care (OSHC) Coordinator, your primary responsibility is to ensure that the OSHC service is responsive to the needs of children and families. You will ensure overall quality and compliance of the management and administration of the OSHC service operations in line with YMCA NSW policies and procedures and the Education and Care Services National Regulations.

As coordinator, you will consult with families and educators to develop, plan and implement a quality OSHC program that is engaging and targeted to the needs of the school age children in your care. You will guide and support educators in providing high quality care and communicate positively and openly with children and families. Your engagement with the school community is crucial, along with a commitment to continuing a promising relationship with your internal & external stakeholders.

What you will bring to the role:
A minimum of Diploma level education and care qualification

Minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an educator in an education and care service, a children’s service or a school or in a service regulated under a former education and care services law

HLTAID004 First Aid

Identify & Respond child protection certificate

Experience in leading a team of Educators
