Exquisite Cakes by Lennert require a “Pastry Chef” in Hunter Valley NSW:

Exquisite Cakes by Lennert is a well-established business producing a wide range of traditional French & European products for our own retail store and a growing list of wholesale customers. We have been operating for over 5 years now and have won numerous awards for our products & customer service, including Champion Cake 2017 at Sydney Royal Fine Food.
Exquisite Cakes by Lennert has a reputation for service & reliability and the ability to respond to the requests for specific products. It applies not only for our retail customers but also for our wholesale customers. If a new product is requested, it can be developed and delivered. That is one of our strengths where decision-making needs to be swift in order to meet the timelines of our customers.

We’re recruiting a Pastry Chef to join our team at our shop in Cessnock, Hunter Valley. As a Chef de Partie / Demi Chef you will be responsible for the preparation and baking of our entire product range including: cakes, pastries, doughs, pies & sausage rolls. You will also be responsible for the supervision of a team of pastry chefs and apprentices on your shift, all while reporting to the Executive Pastry Chef.

Hours are a rotating roster of either 4am or 12pm starts Monday – Friday or Tuesday – Saturday.

To be successful you must have the capability to lead a team, ensuring delivery, preparation and baking meet production requirements for our retail store and wholesale customers. We are seeking someone who wants to be a part of our diverse and driven team.

Ideally, you will:

  • Possess minimum 2 years’ experience as a Pastry Chef in the industry.
  • Preferably have held a leadership position before.
  • Ideally have had previous production experience either in similar business or hotel banquet kitchens.
  • Have strong understanding and experience in the production of pastries and cakes.
  • Passionate about food and baking with a drive for excellence and demonstrate a creative flair
  • Have strong knowledge and experience in the production of pastries including lamination of dough.
  • Finish products to product specifications
  • Assist in stock control and ordering by monitoring ingredient requirements and future orders.
