Eight Recruitment require a “Procurement Specialist | $500m Wind Farm & Solar Projects” in Newcastle NSW:

Our client is a leader in renewable energy projects across Australia and New Zealand. Led by one of Australia’s most experienced people in the renewable sector, they offer full vertical EPC capability from initial consultation through to detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover of projects including Wind Farms and Utility Scale Solar.
They have recently been awarded a contract for the delivery of the largest capacity wind farm in NSW and now have a need for a team of Procurement specialists for their Newcastle based Head Office
As the Procurement Specialists, you will be tasked with sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing commercial vendors for the Group. You will identify and lead strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for opportunities and develop positive working relationships with subcontractors and partners.

Your daily responsibilities may include:
Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies across the business
Lead negotiation strategies with the goal to close deal with optimal terms
Build strong working commercial relationships with various stakeholders
Perform cost and scenario analysis across suppliers
Create project RFQ and contract templates, Initiate RFQs, pre-approval assessment of subcontractors/suppliers, conduct tender evaluations and negotiation of contracts and security and conduct contract administration.
Track and report key functional metrics with the view to reducing costs
Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
Using well developed analytical skills, you will also be responsible for identifying potential suppliers, assessing them and negotiating favourable payment terms.
Lead, negotiate and recommend reliable sources of supply and subcontractors
Lead Procurement activity on bids to secure new projects The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in local and international procurement with exposure to an engineering, construction, building and/or project environment strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to execute large project procurement programs from concept through implementation.
Demonstrated ability to understand and apply various approaches to tender assessment, sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract development, supplier management, supplier development and sustainable procurement.
