Position Summary

The Regional Community Coordinator will be responsible for the continued development and implementation of the batyr programs and community events across regional NSW, particularly around the New England, Central West and Upper Hunter regions. Additionally, responsibilities include expanding and managing our existing school partners. This role will also be pivotal to the growth of the organisation and the impact of batyr in regional communities. This role will be critical in shaping how batyr will deliver programs across regional NSW and to the success and growth of batyr. The primary function of the coordinator is to work alongside the schools and partnerships teams to reach school booking targets and continuing to build relationships with young people, local services, schools and potential supporters. The Regional Community Coordinator will work towards targets of School Bookings to be achieved each quarter as well as KPI’s around funding and partnership goals. The Regional Community Coordinator will see the impact of these programs and partnerships continue to positively contribute to the way young people speak about mental health and view reaching out for support. This role will report directly to the School Program Manager, based in Sydney.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and organise the growth and delivery of batyr programs in Regional NSW
  • Develop relationships with schools to promote and book the batyr@school programs, highlighting links between curriculum and benefits to students, staff and the community
  • Visit communities across regional NSW to meet with key stakeholders and engage communities, including but not limited to; New England, Upper Hunter, Central West, etc
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, developing agreements and deliver on KPI’s as outlined.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local community members, mental health service providers and supporters to keep them engaged and informed
  • Assist the School Program Manager and school team with projects and tasks as they arise
  • Schedule casual facilitators and coordinators to support and ensure successful delivery of programs across Regional NSW

Selection Criteria Essential

  • An active interest in working with young people to tackle the stigma around mental health
  • An understanding of education and learning processes that will enable the delivery of first-class programs
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding communication skills, both orally and written, with presentation & facilitation experience
  • Proven abilities in managing relationships with external stakeholders
  • Strong project management skills including development, maintenance and evaluation
  • Proven ability to work independently and reach KPI’s
  • Desire to learn the new processes and tools used by the batyr Team
  • Passion for preventative education in the area of Mental Health
  • Full Drivers License


  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Experience working with communities in regional NSW

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year
