Job Description

The Service Delivery Strategy Division is responsible for:

- applying a ‘smart servicing’ perspective to strategic planning for the Service Delivery Operations Group in order to optimise the operations of the various service delivery channels

- the provision of cross-channel, cross programme operational design input into transformation projects

- contributing to the implementation and socialisation of business as usual and change initiatives across the Service Delivery Operations Group to ensure collaboration and consistency across the Service Centre and Smart Centre network

- developing cross channel projects to improve performance

- service quality through implementation of the departmental quality framework and accurate reference material for staff

- quantitative and qualitative research and analysis across a range of data sources to identify insights and opportunities to improve service delivery outcomes.

Senior Learning Design Officers identify, scope and oversee the development of technical training products to support service delivery staff. They are responsible for the design and implementation of programme changes through the provision of technical training and support tools using departmental guidelines to provide quality outcomes to stakeholders.

Senior Learning Design Officers may manage and support staff, set work priorities and monitor performance and quality assurance. They work under limited direction of senior staff to make independent decisions within defined parameters impacting on their area of responsibility.

This ongoing recruitment exercise is covering a number of teams within the Service Delivery Strategy Division. Suitable applicants may be required to move between teams depending on Divisional priorities and demand for our services.

These roles are currently within the Capability Improvement Branch in the Technical Training Solutions Team.

Work environment

Due to the size of the Department’s footprint Australia wide, it is not uncommon for staff members to work in virtual teams. This means that a person may be separated from their line manager or other team members. Where possible staff from the same Branch or Division are clustered for pastoral support.

Applicants must be willing to undertake travel to represent the branch at workshops and other events, contribute to branch activities and participate in learning and development activities.
