nib require a “Senior Payroll Specialist” in Hunter Valley NSW:

An exciting opportunity now exists for a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our well established finance team. nib, an ASX 200 listed organisation are currently experiencing unprecedented growth both domestically and internationally. As such, our finance team are transforming towards a more efficient way of supporting our rapidly expanding business.

The role of Senior Payroll Specialist will provide mentoring and support to the payroll team including resolving payroll related issues ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies and awards whilst driving efficiencies. Working both internally with the team and the broader Finance division, as well as externally you will resolve a variety of technical issues whilst creating strong working relationships.

In addition to this, reporting to the Group Payroll Manager you will be required to oversee the accurate, efficient and timely processing of all payrolls for nib companies.

What you will do

  • Understand the end to end processing of payrolls for all nib companies
  • Oversee processing of all manual & automated payments
  • Prepare, balance & reconcile Payroll, PAYG, FBT, Superannuation, Workers Compensation, Payroll Tax and other payments
  • Provide a responsive, accurate client advisory service for all payroll matters, resolve difficult enquires, assist in identifying payroll errors and implementing best practise solutions as corrective action
  • Interpret and understand conditions and entitlements in awards, enterprise agreements, company policies and individual contracts
  • Understand and review termination payments, superannuation, annual leave and LSL provisions/accruals
  • Ensure the salary review and short term incentive payments processing is accurate and adheres to nib policy
  • Oversee quarterly returns, monthly & annual reporting & production of payment summaries
  • Assist in reviewing payroll risks, controls, procedures, processes and policies
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and training to payroll team members

About you
Your proven experience in running payroll processing in a medium to large organisation coupled with your understanding of Australian payroll legislation and employment tax law will ensure your success in this role. You will possess demonstrated experience in interpreting awards, company policy, individual contracts and enterprise agreements in addition to strong knowledge of statutory requirements and regulations such as superannuation, leave and payroll tax.

Your strong communication skills and natural ability to mentor, train, empower and motivate the team, will allow you the ability to influence and build strong working relationships across all levels.
