We are looking for an experienced Sponsorship & Events Manager to work for a rapidly growing national brand. We are looking for a classic all-rounder – a strategic thinker, meticulous planner, careful budgeter, outstanding communicator, and someone with a willingness to get their hands dirty and have fun on projects.

You’ll play a critical role in growing the nib brand through the strategic development and execution of nib’s national and trans-tasman sponsorship portfolio that includes properties across the NRL and Super Rugby, as well as managing our community and grassroots partnerships and nib Stadium in WA. With your commercial knowledge, you will work with these organisations to find innovative and effective initiatives that help to grow the nib brand across Australia and New Zealand.

You will also be responsible for delivering a range of events for employees and external partners, as well as providing strategic direction on nib’s brand and identity.

What you’ll do

Based within our Head Office in Newcastle, this 12 month maternity leave contract really is a unique opportunity.

You will have the opportunity to put your ideas forward and turn them into reality by managing the development and implementation of nib’s Group sponsorship strategy. As well as reviewing, evaluating and making recommendations regarding nib’s sponsorship properties, you will be responsible for implementing of brand engagement activities and management of relationships with stakeholders and their ongoing contracts. You will also manage, develop and implement employee and stakeholder promotions, activities and events across the nib Group that utilise nib sponsorship benefits where appropriate.

About you

You will have experience in managing brand sponsorships and events, as well as brand management, with a relevant degree qualification in a related discipline and/or equivalent industry experience.

You will be able to demonstrate your experience in developing and implementing national/international sponsorship strategies, as well as activating and leveraging against multiple sponsorship properties across Australia and New Zealand. You will also have experience in creating world-class events that excite, delight and push the boundaries of traditional employee and stakeholder events.

We’re looking for a leader with proven experience in managing a team or another team member, and someone who likes to work hard and play hard. First class organisational, presentation and communication skills are also a must. You will need to be available to work on weekends and out of hours on occasion, as well as travel interstate and internationally.
