Maiwel require a “Support Worker” in Telarah NSW:

  • Casual and Part-time positions.*Based in Telarah, NSW. *Make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities in the Hunter.

Reporting to the Lifestyle & Leisure Facilitator, you will:
Be a vital part of the team and will be responsible for supporting participants to increase their independence and work towards achieving their individual goals. With a focus on young people with high support needs and positive behaviour support, you will work in conjunction with the team to deliver a range of meaningful and social community access programs within a variety of support models.

Please answer the Selection Criteria; how you demonstrate qualifications/experience/qualities in: *Experience in meeting participants care plan requirements including personal care, seizure management and medication administration.*Demonstrated skill and experience to positively support people with a disability including complex support requirements.*Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support strategies/principles.*Ability to develop and/or implement engaging programs and activities (including Sensory Programs). *Well developed communication, interpersonal, written and verbal skills.*Ability to communicate participants? outcomes, progress, changes and achievements.*Current Drivers Licence and willing to drive. *Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable or willingness to obtain: *Certificate III or IV in Disability or equivalent.*Trained in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) or Predict, Assess & Respond to Challenging Behaviour (PART)* Ability to use sign language i.e. Auslan/Makaton.
