Job Description

House with No Steps require a “Support Workers – Maitland, NSW” in Hunter Valley NSW:

House with No Steps (HWNS) is a leading provider of quality residential, employment and business services to people with disabilities throughout NSW, ACT, VIC and QLD. We are committed to innovation, continuous improvement and building strong relationships.

We currently have a number of exciting opportunities for part-time and casual Support Workers to deliver supports across a range of services for adults, young people and children across multiple sites and programs such as Supported Living and Flexible Supports in the Maitland area.

Enjoy supporting people to be active inclusive participants in their community, with a commitment to motivating people we support to achieve personal goals leading to further independence.

Have the ability to attend to and support others with personal care and domestic duties in a respectful way.

Enjoy sport, accessing your local community and outdoor activities.

Essential Selection Criteria

Experience working with or a genuine interest in empowering people with a disability.

Knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Available to work on a rotating flexible roster, which may include a combination of shifts including days, afternoons, active nights, sleepovers and weekend shifts.

A capacity to meet the physical requirements of the job that may include manual handling tasks.

Well developed communication (verbal and written) skills.

Good computer competency with MS Office.

A commitment to HWNS Values, Mission and the Disability Services Standards.

Current Drivers Licence and willingness to use own vehicle (if required) with comprehensive insurance.

Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain).

Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain).
