Job Description

$70,000 – $100,000 a year
This multi-disciplined consulting business delivers high quality surveying projects throughout NSW for a range of clients in industries including engineering, industrial, residential, civil and infrastructure construction, mining etc. Surveys undertaken include subdivisions, property boundaries, leases, community titles, strata title surveys, and open cut mining projects and may include 3D laser scanning, digital terrain modelling, geographic information systems (GIS) surveying, bathymetric surveys, topographical surveys (GPS and EDM), environmental surveys, audit surveys and aerial mapping control surveys.
A growth opportunity exists for two motivated SURVEYORS to join a leading Surveying organisation, within their Newcastle office.

We are looking for GRADUATE and ENGINEERING SURVEYORS to join this existing reputable and professional team, offering exposure to a variety of exciting projects. This role would suit either a Qualified Junior Surveyor who has recently graduated or has up to two years’ experience (looking to learn and further their surveying skills); or an Intermediate Surveyor who has three to seven years of experience in the field (and requires more project depth).

Key duties and responsibilities:

measuring, modelling, planning, and mapping using latest up to date survey systems and technology
designing, building, titling and managing the spatial components of land administration systems
undertaking cadastral surveys for subdivisions, boundary markings, easements etc.
undertaking control surveys, topographic surveys and construction set out surveys
preparation of spatial information, structural monitoring and deformation studies
setouts and pegouts
calculations and drafting
engineering measurement
participating in site visits and undertaking field and office duties
producing accurate survey work
maintaining accurate work records and technical information
recording and uploading captured data
field calculations
maintaining survey equipment
preparation of all types of survey plans
preparing clear and concise assessments and reports
liaison and negotiation with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including Project Managers, and developing site relationships
following instructions using initiative
adhering to health and safety guidelines and standards
Key attributes and requirements:
a Degree or Advanced Diploma qualification in Engineering, Surveying or similar will be highly favoured
experience using software such as 12D, AutoCAD, Civil CAD
knowledge and hands on use of Leica or Trimble Robotic Total Station and GPS equipment
a good understanding of Word, Excel, and MS Office software packages
engineering studies / Design Tech / Software Design & Development
proven Cadastral work training
excellent oral and written communication skills
effective time management to delivery on competing deadlines
an ability to work independently and collaboratively across an established professional team on a range of projects
