The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader Signals Electrical to be a part of our Major Works team within Sydney Trains. Reporting to the Team Manager this position plays a key role in the planning and managing of projects and support work allocation of the team.

The Team Leader Signals Electrical will be responsible to provide frontline technical support and assisting the Team Manager in ensuring the quality of renewals and construction works on signalling equipment within the Sydney Trains network.

We are looking for a Team Leader Electrical who is Competency assessed to level 4.3 (Signal Electrical) and Accredited and Qualified for appointment to Signal Electrician. The ideal candidate will be experienced in the use of Electrical Signals systems and assets including the planning and delivery of signalling support packages, works and signalling construction projects. You will be required to drive 4WD/ UTE type vehicle so a current Class C drivers licence is required.

Selection Criteria 1: Competency assessed to level 4.3 (Signal Electrical) and Accredited and Qualified for appointment to Signal Electrician.

Selection Criteria 3: Hold or able to gain within designated time frame the safe work qualifications required for the role (including pass in rail safety category 1 medical)

Selection Criteria 4: Hold a current NSW Class C drivers licence and be comfortable driving a 4WD/ UTE type vehicle

Selection Criteria 5: Demonstrated experience in managing safety compliance in an environment with competing priorities and significant assets

Selection Criteria 6: Demonstrate an ability to plan work and coordinate resources efficiently and effectively including understanding the competencies required to safely carry out tasks

Selection Criteria 7: Ability to implement, drive and embed technical and process improvements

Selection Criteria 8: Experience in carrying out inspections and quality control

Selection Criteria 9: Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, negotiation skills, influencing skills and able to use systems including maintenance management systems, work processing and spreadsheet programs, e-mail and communications.
