As the Team Leader System Monitoring you will be primarily responsible for real-time monitoring of Hunter Water Corporations assets and operations 24/7/365, using SCADA, job management systems, and field communications to initiate and process work undertaken by field staff, and frontline Customer Service management for emergency work after hours. The role is responsible for establishing, maintaining and continuously improving job processes and procedures for a range of tasks including SCADA monitoring, worker fatigue management, GPS vehicle tracking, job creation, prioritisation, and dispatching.
To be successful in this role you will be a strong hands on leader who has the ability to develop and maintain trust and credibility with your team. You will be willing to be accountable for and advocate on behalf of the team. You will also have good conflict management skills and be comfortable leading change. Previous experience in a dispatch or control centre role is not essential but you do need to be flexible, adaptable and keen to build new skills.
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Ability and demonstrated experience leading and co-ordinating a busy team in a fast-paced environment including experience in coaching, development, conflict resolution and performance management.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills
  • Sound negotiation and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus and the ability to form effective working relationships
  • The ability to actively embrace change and promote ongoing change and improvement programs within teams.
  • Aptitude to effectively utilise information technology
  • Flexibility to lead a team that operates 24/7/365
  • Qualifications in a relevant field ie business management, leadership, customer service, operations management
  • Experience working in a call centre, dispatch or industrial environment
  • General knowledge of water utility business activities, particularly the operation of assets and maintenance work,
  • Capability in using computerised control & monitoring systems, geographical information systems, incident management systems, and enterprise resource planning systems.
