  • Position remuneration as Technical Assistant – Grade 2 Year1
  • Temporary Fixed Term Position (6 month contract – maternity leave relief)

About the role

The Technical Research Assistant is responsible for a range of duties including, but not limited to:

  • Maintain adequate levels of laboratory kits for clinical trials
  • Preparation of tubes, sample requisition forms, courier arrangements to ensure all study specific samples are actioned as per trial requirements
  • Coordinate with trial coordinators to facilitate timely processing, packing and shipment of clinical trial/research specimens as outlined in trial specific manuals
  • Maintain accurate logs for all Haematology Frozen specimens and freezer temperatures where applicable
  • Ensure trial databases have current laboratory reference ranges entered at all times
  • Maintain specimen/registry databases
  • Assist in maintenance of relevant standard operating procedures and working instructions as required

What you bring

  • Demonstrated experience in a health science and/or research setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in biological laboratory techniques.
  • Willingness to work with human blood samples/urine sample
  • Proven self-directed ability to prioritise and process high volume workload whilst paying close attention to accuracy and detail

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience in Cell culture, flow cytomtery, ELISA, DNA extraction and Biobanking experience
