Full Time, with the option to work part time 30+ hours per week*6 month Maximum Term Contract*Based in Maitland
The Mai-Wel Group is a large regional provider of disability services, focused on enhancing lives through opportunity and choice. Mai-Wel supports more than 1,500 participants across seven Local Government Areas.

We are searching for that special someone who is passionate about the wellbeing of people, to lead Health and Safety within our organisation in establishing and maintaining Safety Management Systems and promoting a positive safety culture.

Your strong communication and problem solving skills will be pivotal to your success in partnering with Leadership, the WHS Committee and workers to facilitate continuous improvement of WHS Management Systems and processes to ensure compliance with legislation and deliver best practice.

Reporting to the HR Manager – What you will do: *Provide support and input to the development, implementation and review of WHS Management Plan *Review and implement changes to WHS Policies and Procedures to reflect current statutory legislation and best practice*Conduct and support internal WHS audits, safety incidents and workplace inspections, monitor and follow-up on completion of actions *Develop and produce insightful WHS reporting to monitor the effectiveness of WHS across Mai-Wel*Drive and influence a high level of employee engagement in safety, and reinforce a positive safety culture across Mai-Wel by: *Leading, participating or otherwise supporting incident investigations *Providing advice, support and education on all aspects of WHS across the Mai-Wel*Provide support to and consult with the WHS Committee to ensure its proactive involvement in WHS*Act as Injury Management Coordinator to facilitate recovery at work*Identify opportunities and implement programs that positively impact health and wellbeing of the workforce.

Selection Criteria – You will demonstrate qualifications/experience/qualities in: *Relevant tertiary qualifications in WHS and/or experience in a similar role*Demonstrated knowledge of WHS legislation and WHS Management Systems *Return to Work Coordinator & Workers Comp*Ability to partner and coach for positive safety culture*Excellent written and verbal communication skills*Proven experience using SharePoint, preferably working at administrator level*Highly developed computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office suite*Current Drivers Licence.*Experience within the community/disability services sector would be highly regarded but not essential.
