Operating in Australia for over 40 years, our client has established themselves as a market leader within the power generation sector who provide generators, turbines, transformers and associated power infrastructure to the industry. A wholly owned subsidiary of a global corporation, their business is made up of engineering and technical personnel who provide expertise to their customers which includes powerstations, transmission and distribution plant owners / operators and developers.




This organisation is currently seeking a Project Engineer / Manager to work within its dedicated Field Service team. Soon moving to a new workshop facility based in the Newcastle area, this role will see you reporting to the Senior Manager – Field Services and responsible for project managing field service projects, involving the supply of labour and assets on company projects and directly into customer sites.


The successful candidate MUST have project experience working in power generation and industrial environments and experience with utility sized steam turbines, generators and associated equipment will be highly regarded. This is a full-time position and reports to the Senior Manager Field Services.


Manage multiple and parallel projects in line with the company’s project management standards.
Ensure financial management, forecasting and reporting is completed in line with company standards
Establish project management plans, priorities, forecasts and availability of resources / tooling / assets required to complete projects.
Ensure that work is performed in accordance with health and safety requirements.
Support the business by recommending actions to improve financial performance, whilst ensuring internal controls are in place.
Contribute to the achievement of the business unit’s objectives and drive for appropriate cost structure, productivity optimisation, and capital efficiency.


Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, construction management or relevant industry experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a project management / project control function in a heavy industrial environment
Technical understanding of power station equipment specifically with steam turbine generators and auxiliaries
Knowledgeable and extensive experience in all aspects of project financial management, forecasting and reporting.
Experience creating project schedules and tracking progress of jobs against schedule.
Ability to develop and implement HSE systems and management plans.
Ability to develop, interpret, and understand technical drawings and engineering QA documents (record sheets/inspection and test plans).
Ability to co-ordinate and manage a large inventory of assets and tooling.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Australian Driver’s License


Competitive annual base salary commensurate with relevant experience (based on a 35-hour week)
